It's about all they could do to not fall foul of allowing a vote on this matter whilst also clearing up the wording to be less about Johnson and therefore not providing ammunition to Labour for those MP's who will support Johnson's government next week. Of course they'll say they're supporting a conservative government with an 80 seat majority in the process of choosing a new leader. They'll be right in that too.

Hence why I didn't understand why Labour tried to pull this trick now - had they had pulled it before Johnson's government collapsed those MP's would have egg on their faces, but they didn't.

Not a weird coincidence of similar names - the Daily Dot article on the 2014 allegations links to a denial from the twitter account of the youtuber. The tweet's been deleted but you can see it was posted by the blue tick account @craigtdillon (currently posting as Thomas Corbett-Dillon).

There's a 2015 interview in the Independent that refers to all charges being dropped though. (According to the google summary - I haven't read it cos it's the Independent.)

c) overall awareness of what is going in general

He talked the talk, but he didn't walk the walk. The Climate Change Committee's reports showed how we were falling further and further behind our objectives. Concrete decarbonisation plans were always coming next year. Domestic green subsidy schemes in operation were so useless that people didn't even claim the derisory amounts of money available, with no intention of serious replacements. The serious amounts of money needed were never made available. Targets were set, with little plan for how to get there, nor arrangements for investment in the necessary infrastructure to deliver them. When they did eventually deliver their plan, it was only a plan to form a plan.

In other words, talk was all it was. Hardly the champion. As was so often the case with Johnson, all talk and no trousers. (Ukraine was perhaps the most notable exception.)

And something green he did throw £100m at, a battery factory in Tyneside - how that going? Badly.

I'm a bit torn by this. I can see that Johnson is capable of getting attention for something. It was interesting to see on the news how many voters in the Red Wall still see him as the People's Hero, wrongly done down by the Terrible Tory esTablishment. On the other hand, I'm not sure I want such a person to be a champion for a cause he was so two-faced about in office.
