How does it take 4 hours to debate this?

One of them is a Labour MP who forced the vote by shouting No, then had to vote No.

What a thing to have in your record though

The Doncaster Tory said he'd vote against. Gave an horrendous 'speech' - he read out words off a piece of paper, giving the feeble analogy that it was like Man City's star player appearing in front of a committee made up of Man Utd players. Fair enough he owes his job to Boris, but he will be no great loss

It was interesting how poor a lot of the speakers were, many just reading their words rather than being able to put together a cogent argument. Also, it's not a debate as no-one takes any notice of what the previous speaker said

Really? What would have happened if they shouted No and voted Yes?

The two Labour MPs that voted against were “Tellers for the division. Not counted in the totals of those voting for or against the motion”, according to the Guardian.

Looks like there's only 6 MPs listed as supporting the liar, when they announced 7.

Maybe somebody forgot to scan their voting pass, either accidentally or because they were as drunk as a Number 10 staffer.

The shameful six:

Adam Holloway (Gravesham)
Heather Wheeler (South Derbyshire)
Joy Morrissey (Beaconsfield)
Karl McCartney (Lincoln)
Nick Fletcher (Don Valley)
Sir William Cash (Stone)

But surprisingly absent was the infamous Nadine Dorries. When even she has deserted Boris, it's obvious he's in trouble.

Nah, she’s following his instructions to abstain

At least the six/seven who voted against had the guts to do it in public, unlike the very many who avoided the vote by not turning up, presumably either because they're scared he'll make a comeback or for some vested interest.

Boris supporters were attempting to take their ball away and refuse to play. Don't think it'll work. They will still stick to the line it was a stitch up, though.

On his analogy, the committee would have a built in Man City majority. The Johnson supporters screaming "stitch-up" seem to be unaware that 4 of the 7 committee members are Tories.

Also, it makes me wonder - is he saying that football teams each supply their own ref to ensure fair play? That the FA has no part in discipling players, only the clubs? His analogy is bl..dy stupid. But then again, we shouldn't be surprised given what he's attempting to defend.

There's a surprise. My own ineffective, class-of-2019* Tory MP failed to register a vote of any kind. I assume he had something much more important to do somewhere else.

*We've always been Tory but the previous marginally-less-ineffective MP stepped down for the 2019 election, to spend more time with his family. Yes, he really said that, though in slightly different words: "I have come to the conclusion that now is the right time for me to give a higher priority in terms of my time and energy, to Helen and my family who have given unstinting support to me during more than a quarter of a century in the House of Commons". Nothing to do with him backing Hancock and then Hunt over Johnson in the leadership campaign.

My own ineffective, class-of-prehistory Tory MP voted for the report, which is interesting. Selous is not noted for being a Johnson fan, but likes to keep quiet about it.

The phrasing when discussing their voting record on this has to "refused to vote for the report".

Bet you'd all shake his sweaty, still adolescent hand.

I wouldn't. He can feck off to the far side of crap hair side feck.

and then I hope he screams and nobody hears him.

End this nonsense that is his surname.

Why would you even think that? You're not the only one who despises him.

Exactly. I'm really struggling to think what could have given purplehaze the impression that there's some huge Johnson fan club on here.

As I live not a million miles from Chequers, and Johnson was occasionally seen in town, I used to practice what I was going to say to him if I ever had the chance, but I never managed to come up with words that were sufficiently venomous to please me. The possibility of shaking his hand never crossed my mind for a moment.
