sh.t. I've been experimenting with extreme news deprivation - no websites, only messaging on apps, etc. - and I swear I forgot for literally some of today that this was all going on. Like entire hours where I didn't think about Trump being a cock.

It was nice. I think I've found a new strategy for surviving 2021.

So if trump is selling presidential pardons to raise some much needed cash; and if he is also asking about presidential pardons for his children: how much will he charge his children?

Ivanka will be asked to pay in kind.

The (first?) Trump Presidency 2016-2020(?) in a nutshell.

The maximum possible - the children will just claim if back on expenses.

Once from each of their employers.

I would imagine that there is quite a fight going on at the equivalent of the Inland Revenue office over who gets to check the Trumpettes' tax returns next year.

Righteous f.cking anger:

From a Republican, too. I may have a lot of disagreement with Sterling and Raffensperger politically, but I can respect them for standing up for democracy and rule of law in the face of the pressure they are under. It isn't something that should take courage, but at the moment, it does.

On a more cynical note, I can't imagine this helping Loeffler or Purdue - the latter of them forced to resort to an ad right now that just says "Totally Exonerated No Wrongdoing", suggesting the corruption allegations are sticking, which they should, because it doesn't look like Purdue did anything in the senate without buying and selling stocks to benefit from his insider knowledge and decisions, whether it was of the coronavirus, or of submarine maintenance contracts, etc.

I forget the Sidney Powell character's alignment on the various dimensions of dysfunction we can use to categorise these peri-Trump inadequates.

Is she one of the coke heads? One of the piss heads? A sufferer of dementia? Brain damaged in some other way? A secret agent? A YouTuber playing a prank? Is she a p.rn star and this is all an especially long intro scene with especially unrealistic dialogue? Facts are preferred, but wild speculation is also fine because it doesn't really matter.

Trying to tie up the "too deranged for Trump" niche?

Number 3/4 who thinks they are number 5 is the current consensus, I think.

Scarily, she's a former prosecutor, and so there's a fair number of criminal cases that probably need to be reëxamined.

Oh, and I think your list missed out "shameless grifter".

Another fine moment in the Sidney Powell subplot today: a rally in Georgia at which she urged Georgia Republicans to boycott the Senate runoff election in January. Politico described this rally as "even more bonkers than Rudy Giuliani’s news conference", which is high praise.

To steal lpm's metaphor.... the writers are pulling out more, just when you think you know where it's heading.

Trump is now rumoured to be considering firing Barr - who's going to want that lame duck AG role apart from a complete Trump-nutter?

Just after McEnany does a presser where she asks people to dial it back, but also says there's threats of violence from both sides, Trump releases a 46 minute rant of epic lunacy. Apparently it was statistically impossible for Biden to win.... well there you are...

The Powell rally was all dressed up in fervent patriotism.

This is not going to end well. Part of me wonders if the GOP are going to 25th amendment him away the last minute and scoop up that $170 million of his election result fighting fund.

To be honest, I think even Sunset Beach writers would laugh this one off as fantasy thinking gone too far

FOUND SOME ATTEMPTED VOTING FRAUD!!!

Uhm...it's the Republicans again.

Florida Republican lawyer encourages people to falsely register to vote in Georgia and appears to have done so himself.
But it was only tongue in cheek... An interesting claim when onr performs the said criminal act that one allegedly recommended as a joke.

Only tongue in cheek, eh? Including him going through with it, to the point that currently they're awaiting a driving licence check?

I was just quoting their defence (defense?) of their actions in the facebook video that's now been deleted.

Mind you, I suppose there's not really any good defence of "I wanted to try to steal an election"

Admitting to an attempt at electoral fraud sounds a bit career-limiting for a lawyer, or so you'd hope.
