The Gov has called for volunteers to help people in isolation: https://www.goodsamapp.org/NHS which seems like a fine civic thing to do, we should all be helping our neighbours where we can.

https://twitter.com/stavvers/status/1242581234712219651 got me thinking though - should the gov be paying for people's time, even only nominally. Part of the reason the people are needed are because of 10 years of tory austerity and not funding the NHS properly, although I'm sure we'd still need more help.

The PPE/Insurance questions are also very pertinent, and common the gov hasn't thought this through properly.

I'll still sign up though as my street is mostly elderly and needs a hand.

Our local councillors arranged a local help scheme two weeks ago - government very much playing catch-up to what right minded folk are already doing?
