Is predicting a science or a dark art?

This was a good listen, an interview with Margaret Heffernan on the pitfalls of making and believing predictions. If we were still doing Skeptics live, I'd have booked her.

I haven't listened to your link yet but I've been to a couple of panel discussions with Margaret Heffernan through the Bristol Festival of Ideas and she's been consistently excellent. I started a thread on her last one about the future. I never got round to writing the blogpost but I recorded audio of the evening so will try and put something together, maybe once I've also finished her book.
it's okay to say "I don't know"
