Israel police & murders of Palestinian men

Post by Bird on a Fire » Mon Jun 01, 2020 5:10 pm

Unarmed autistic man killed by police in Jerusalem on his way to school. Shot in the chest twice while running away.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-52876014

Obviously there are differences between the US and Israel - the latter is more explicit about being an ethnostate, has more history of warfare within and adjacent to its territory and is actively engaging in ongoing annexations, ethnic cleansing and concentrations. The US's days of annexations and genocide are largely behind it, instead using state violence and socioeconomic tools of repression against its own citizens.

But there seem to be similarities in terms of the militarization of police and a shoot-first-question-later attitude, at least when applied to non-favoured ethnicities, all justified by a corrupt right-wing populist leader and politicised media.

Hardly. China and the Uyghurs, Myanmar and the Rohingya, Brazil and its indigenous people, Turkey and the Kurds, South Sudan and the Nuer, etcetera etcetera. It's still a pervasive problem around the world.

How the f.ck do you rank "The best/worst way/where to die"
