Violent crime and sexual assaults are overwhelmingly male. Given the 90/10 or 95/5 split, it's inevitable that trans women commit violent crime and sexual assaults at a higher rate than cis women. But equally given the tiny number of trans women, the absolute number committed by cis women is much higher.

The statistics for sexual assaults by inmates in UK women's prisons show this. Trans women committed a higher proportion of assaults relative to their numbers.

This led to an adjustment to UK prison policy, with more trans women being kept in men's prisons in separate wings rather than being transferred.

I don't think it's prejudice to point this out. The higher rate of trans women crime has practical policy implications. The role of testosterone or early years upbringing has such a huge effect it can't be deleted as an inconvenient truth.

Piggy, I can't imagine that anybody here is under the illusion that trans people never commit crimes so your link adds absolutely nothing to the discussion.

What you need to show is that this particular group of people are so dangerous as to pose such a risk to other women that they need to be excluded from various services until a seperate (but presumably equal) service can be set up just for them. A list of alleged wrongdoers goes nowhere near providing such evidence.

I was not aware that it was a far-right website. As far as I could see (I've not been back to it), it was not suggesting all trans people are criminal.

Nonetheless, I apologise.

I gave my reasoning for doing so upthread in response to others.
