If both Dems win Georgia weed will become federally legal, one of the first genuinely progressive bits of policy in the USA for yonks, even if it's mainly just undoing generations of their own racist idiocy.

It's still feeling like a shock victory. The Dems have f.cked up far easier Senate races in 2018 and 2020. I was fully prepared for MagaMorons to be dining off my liberal tears this morning, or at best a 1-1 split.

Quite a turnaround from Republican house, senate and president in 2016 to Democrat in 2020.

Bet you a zillion alternative pounds that in the alternative universe of Clinton winning 2016 there would now be a sweeping Republican triumph.
Clearly what they need is the equivalent of Stacey Abrams in every state.
I realise discussion will likely have moved on by now. My sleep pattern is f.cked and I just woke up and what the actual f.ck am I seeing?

That said, this is a completely sound point. A lot of people are talking Abrams up as if she is magic, but she would be the first to point out that what she has done is not magic, it is not superpowers of some sort, it is hard work. That hard work is replicable, and needs to be replicated. Her work should provide a template for every southern state.

One concern I had in November is that by abandoning in person campaigning, the Democrats were fighting with one hand tied behind their backs. It's very notable that they did not repeat that this time.

I think that that's a pretty reasonable hypothesis about what did happen in November, and has been discussed in DNC circles.

6 Senators back the coup attempt. Cruz and Hawley were already committed, no idea why the other 4 non entities carried on.

House still debating. Will be interesting to see if they get 140 still.

Well, Biden now has 306 certified votes.
It first was a rumour dismissed as a lie, but then came the evidence none could deny:

Seems that Pence will never entertain the idea of using the 25th Amendment.

Which seems disqualifying for a VP.

New Illinois congresswoman gave speech yesterday about how “Hitler was right about one thing”

Thing is, just like people who say “I’m not racist, but...” are clearly racists, people who say “Hitler was right about one thing” *definitely* think Hitler was right about a lot of things.
