I think it was being framed that way before the Attorney General stepped in front of the cameras. If they were the only gun owners' club they might have more of a leg to stand on. The Opening Arguments podcast did an episode on this sort of eventuality. It's in episode 410, and that part starts at about 22 minutes into the episode. I just had a quick relisten and the TL:DL is, If they declare bankruptcy then they can't take any of its assets to the new organisation - that would be a fraudulent transaction.
