Japanese Trade Deal

Post by Little waster » Tue Aug 11, 2020 8:32 am

Suck it up Remoaners!

Liz Truss is playing hard-ball over soft-cheeses.

With bi-lateral trade worth £31.6bn at risk, Truss is bravely standing up to Johnny Foreigner to get Stilton included. If successful the entire British farming sector could be literally hundreds of pounds better off EVERY YEAR!!!!

At that rate it could pay for all the sub-standard PPE Truss's mate dumped on us in a little under seven Ice Ages.

Stay Alert, Control the Brexit, Check your Underpants.

More posturing by our incompetant overlords. They want to be in a position where they can claim to have a better deal with Japan than the EU-Japan deal.

"Look. Stilton can go to Japan without any quota limit. Bleu d'Auvergne is subject to quotas."

Japan is refusing anything better than the EU deal on principal.

We should watch out for UK victories on things like Stilton. Japan knows that it'll allow the UK government to claim a victory. So it'll give way on iconic but economically insignificant things like lower tariffs for British Blue Cheese so it can get its way on economically important things like cars.

But just think of the cheese puns in the headlines when the press attempt to claim what a significant victory the Japanese "backing down" over Dairylea Triangle tariffs is.

Lol, but Dairylea is made in Belgium.

And that sort of reality-based thinking is what cost your side the referendum in the first place.

It is time to move on from that and embrace the brave new world we live in where reality is whatever we say it is.

Is that to get the juice out of it to make wine like with grapes?
having that swing is a necessary but not sufficient condition for it meaning a thing
