My avatar was a scientific result that was later found to be 'mistaken' - I rarely claim to be 100% correct

Re: Toxic University
Having been to Durham in the early 1990s I don't find it hard to believe. There was a sizeable minority of students who took pleasure in flaunting their public school background and family wealth at the locals. The only thing that differed from Harry Enfield's Loadsamoney character was the accent.Gfamily wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 3:29 pmIs it just Durham, or is it just Durham that's getting reported?

It was only the minority. But a very visible minority.
I know my daughter spotted a few in Cambridge. Including a certain Theodore Apollo Johnson at his* college's May Ball last year . Her friends had already spotted him as being a particularly annoying drunk before they realised who he was.
