At noon on January 20, Trump will be in desperate shape. His business is floundering, his partners are fleeing, his loans are delinquent, prosecutors will be coming after him, and the legal impunity he enjoyed through his office will be gone. It's telling that by all accounts his destruction of presidential records appeared to be an unconcious habit of his; one he persisted with even when he had it pointed out to him that a) it was illegal and b) it was pointless as some poor schmuck had to then spend their day taping them back together again.

It speaks volumes of his pathological level of corruption that the automatic destruction of potentially incriminating material was such an engrained second nature to him.
