Is there any profession in the country which has had an easier, stress-free nine months than the teaching profession?

During this horrible crisis we have all come to respect, more than ever, our frontline workers in the National Health Service. And the frontline workers in other sectors — our bus and train staff, the taxi drivers.

But has any body of people lowered itself more in the eyes of the public than our teachers, spurred on by their unions? I can’t think of one offhand.

My friend, who’s a Head at an inner city primary, has been in almost every day since March to teach the children of essential workers. She caught Covid during the first lockdown.

This diatribe just happens to coincide with the government admission that secondary schools really are entirely f.cked and a significant driver of infections, at least in London, Kent and Essex. He's a f.cking useful idiot, distracting from what government policy is doing.

And teaching unions have been so ineffectual, it's beyond a joke. I don't know how they've been painted as such bogeyman, when as far as I can see they've not mustered any significant resistance to the conditions their members find themselves in.

I understand. One of my best friends is married to a school teacher, who caught COVID at school and gave it to my friend. Thankfully they didn't end up in ICU but they found it pretty rough. Hence my anger at that extract of Liddle spouting off once again about people and situations he knows nothing about. Ugh.

Liddle is an ex-journalist, hes now only a gobshite, and there seems to be a direct correlation between him becoming less of a journalist and more and more of a shithead.
