In his defence Frost has adopted a clear stance, asserting the rights of the UK and has at least let everyone have a bit more clarity on what the UK wanted from the negotiations. He clearly feels undermined by Johnson who is rowing into fudge territory.

I'm not sure he really articulates what the UK, as a country, wants. He may, however, articulate what the 'Cakeist' fringe wants. Which is unattainable.

Exactly this. Frosty the No-brain was no honest john doing a difficult job. He is just a mercenary and a liar who was against brexit when he worked for the scotch whisky association and in favour of it when he worked for a brexitty government. He didn't at any stage admit or accept the difficulties created by the government's position, he just blustered & bloviated and issued threats that he didn't have the authority to carry out.

The UK & the EU are better with that worthless c.nt gone.

I'd assumed that she had left one position to take up the other and was going to say something snarky about this good news for the position she left but no she's going to do both jobs.

Given how dreadful she is as Foreign Secretary and how badly Brexit is going, I can't see either of those things being improved by increasing her work load.

It is obvious in hindsight when you think about it but I don't think any of us really grasped how perfectly the Venn diagrams of "MPs who think Brexit is a good idea" and "MPs who are dishonest, useless c.nts" overlapped or how exclusionary the Venn diagram was to "Tories with even a minimal level of competence.

I would imagine any self aware French producer would source pint bottles and sell them here for exactly the same price as the normal 750cl bottles. As long as we only get pint bottles then they'd be quids in. It's what I would do.

They had fallen out of favour long before then. The EU basically retrospectively then got rid of them after they were already out of use.

So the UK allowing them I can't see would make a difference anyway

It's not very difficult (although I suspect the "pint" may turn out to be 500ml rather than 568). Companies already make many and varied versions of their products for different export markets - for example, many champagne makers produce an "extra extra brut" (dry) version for UK tastes. So changing the dial on the filling machine for a different sized bottle will not be a problem.

For what it's worth, I think it makes sense to sell sparkling wines in a variety of sizes, because it's not much fun after the remainder of an opened bottle has been in the fridge for 24 hours. I can imagine buying a 500ml bottle.

They should make them 473ml, just for shiggles.

Multipacks of three 200 ml bottles of prosecco is a thing, but it's easier to put prosecco in whatever bottle size you want because unlike champagne the secondary fermentation usually isn't in the bottle.

Meanwhile, the ability to have sell tariff-free stilton to Japan doesn't replace loss of cheese trade with the EU.
