2020 No. 10 Christmas Party!

by El Pollo Diablo
You aren't cordially invited to celebrate Christmas this year with the rest of the 10 Downing Street staff, at an in-person Christmas party that isn't happening.

The party won't take place on 18 December 2020 at 5pm. The theme isn't a children's party - please don't come dressed as your favourite kids cartoon character.

To allow the party not to take place, we are following all Covid-safe rules about indoor gatherings, except the ones that make them completely illegal and subject to massive fines.

All drinks and food won't be provided.

Fast forward a year:
The Guardian wrote:[George] Freeman, the science minister, said that he did not know if a Christmas party was held in Downing Street - but that all the guidance was followed. Asked by Justin Webb on the Today programme if there was a party, Freeman replied: “I’ve no idea. I wasn’t there.” But he went on: “But I’m told by those who were that all the guidance was observed.” When it was put to him that, if the guidance was followed, then there can’t have been a party, be because they weren’t allowed, he replied: “I can’t say, I wasn’t there.” When Webb tried again, Freeman just gave the same answer. But he did say that he had “checked” and that he had been told by people who were there that “all the guidance was followed”. As the Telegraph’s Cat Neilan points out, there was an obvious hole in Freeman’s argument.

“.. all the guidance was observed.” ... “all the guidance was followed”...
Strong and stable. Strong and stable.

The Met don't do retrospective crimes.

I'm wondering how many imprisoned due to cold cases being reopened are now going to appeal.

The Met certainly has a bias towards prosecuting minority reports.

Shame there weren't any officers from the Met stationed at Downing Street that day, they could have dealt with the crime while it was in progress.

Meanwhile in unrelated news:-

Government announces crackdown on middle-class, recreational drug users ... again.

and Kit "Not him off the Simpsons" Malthouse stated about drug use in Westminister
“There’s obviously several thousand of people who work on this estate and I’d be surprised if there weren’t some lifestyle users of drugs among them, I have to say.”
probably adding:-
I'd watch out for anyone with a misplaced sense of confidence or who is excessively disorganised or who rambles on incoherently about children's TV characters at 10am on a Monday morning. They probably call themselves things like "Mikey G", or "Boris Jizzle" or "the Right Honourable Member for Chipping Sodbury" or something too. Bit of a White Christmas with lots of "Snow" if you know what I mean.
World-leading physicists predict that the long-awaited Grand Unification of these two storylines will happen in only a matter of hours.

In all seriousness this is Dominic Rennie Raab who is Deputy Prime Minister for the UK and Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor.

But then, wasn't the baddie exposed finally in that film?

There are lights in toilets that show up cocaine use. Notably in theatres.

Those Ros Atkins items are very good, and that one is particularly damning. I love how they have clips of people and then are immediately refute them.

And this... is a good follow up; and excellently done (short of calling him a lying c.nt of course) she's asked the question and he's given the 'wftgaat' and then she lets him waffle and waffle and waffle before quietly asking, again,
how did it not break the rules,
to which, again, 'wftgaat'
but there was a party? 'wftgaat'
a gathering?' wftgaat waffle wftgaat and wftgaat'

Always fun to repost:-
De Peppa's school report, 1982 wrote:"Boris really has adopted a disgracefully cavalier attitude . . . Boris sometimes seems affronted when criticised for what amounts to a gross failure of responsibility (and surprised at the same time that he was not appointed Captain of the School for next half): I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation which binds everyone else.”
What an unexpected turn of events.

Both speaker and starmer should say ' w'd the right onerable c.nt just answer the f.cking question!?'
They're both loaded, set up for life, plenty of work w'd follow, they don't need this...
Just once!!!!

Please no spoilers, I'm saving politics and the inevitably wonderful critiques from Max Robespierre and A Different Bias for when my husband gets off work. It's our equivalent of Date Night :P

EditL: to change PMQs to something generic because 1: wrong day and 2: I'm not caught up and don't know what I'm looking for yet - but the sentiment stands

Video has "emerged" of Allegra Stratton joking about the Christmas party 4 days after it definitely didn't happen.
The recording is of a rehearsal on December 22 for Downing Street's proposed daily TV media briefings, which Ms Stratton was set to front before they were later abandoned.

Staff in the 9 Downing Street press room pose mock questions to help with her preparation.

Ed Oldfield, adviser to the prime minister, asks: “I’ve just seen reports on Twitter that there was a Downing Street Christmas party on Friday night, do you recognise those reports?”
