It must be difficult for her having to keep focus while faced with the smouldering good looks of Johnson and Rees Mogg sat across the aisle
There is something fascinating about RM though, like it's hard to believe he's entirely human and you have to keep looking in case the real face slips out for a moment.

The whole demeanor of the man is that of something that has "just slipped out".

Well I've learnt my lesson. This is the very last time I inter an old copy of the Beano in a Native American burial site.
This place is not a place of honor, no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here, nothing valued is here.
What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us.
This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

Sorry to break up all the fun responses to Warumich, which I genuinely enjoyed, but I feel the need to point out that the Mail on Sunday are disgraceful misogynist scum.
Genuinely dreadful. A woman has a skirt, she’s a tart!
Somebody remind me of the Mail's views on women wearing trousers.
And remember that if you botch the exit, the carnival of reaction may be coming to a town near you.

Mail on Sunday editor refuses meeting with The Speaker and doubles down on the misogyny:

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2022/ ... yner-story
The Mail claimed Dillon and the Mail on Sunday’s political editor Glen Owen, whose byline appeared next to the story, had rejected the Speaker’s invitation to a meeting on Wednesday “in the name of a free press”.

In response to Hoyle, Dillon said journalists should “not take instruction in the House of Commons, however august they may be”, adding that the newspaper “deplores sexism and misogyny in all its forms”.

With this and the chief whip investigating claims a frontbench Tory was watching p.rn on his phone in both the chamber and in committee meetings - do we need a new Tory sleaze/misogyny thread?

A new thread would be good as it looks like there are further party revelations to come

Not just beers, but spirits.
My avatar was a scientific result that was later found to be 'mistaken' - I rarely claim to be 100% correct
ETA 5/8/20: I've been advised that the result was correct, it was the initial interpretation that needed to be withdrawn

Now the elections are done with, are the Met issuing the next round of fines?

I hope so. Can’t wait for the Tories to try and make out that stopping for a bite to eat with one bottle of beer is equivalent to 12 booze fuelled orgies with sh.t being broken left, right and centre.
I’ve decided I should be on the pardon list if that’s still in the works

Yeah, it'd be bad for the Tories, but a Labour Leadership election might not a great thing for Labour to go through either.

I doubt he'd actually have to resign, because it doesn't look like he's done anything wrong, but it seems that over half the UK disagrees with me on that clicky. Even if he doesn't get a fine, there's probably been some reputational damage already.

There was reputational damage anyway even before all this. If the police find him not guilty, it's just another stick to beat Johnson with. If they find him guilty, he'll resign, it's another stick to beat Johnson with.

There's no replacement for Starmer. It'll be a disaster if he goes.

I dunno, I don't think it's as hopeless as all that, but I guess it's all down to Durham police and whether they have any sense. Labour haven't purged all their talent out of the party unlike the Tories.

An option for Durham is to do what they did with Cummings and say there might have been a minor breach but whatevs, we cba. If they do that, would he resign? f.ck knows. Should he? f.ck knows.
