In the report I note that it’s clearly stated that the late announcement of the Met criminal investigation meant that some events were not investigated properly by Sue Gray.

There's a certain level of baked-in insanity that we have got to the point where people are being seriously asked to look at pictures of parties and then decide whether the party is a party and which of the partying party-goers are partying at the party.

It's like the world's shittest Captcha*, f.ck knows what they are training the Google AI to do with this info?

TBF the gas-lighting f.ckers are also running other stories along the lines of "Ach-shully I think you'll find that Partygate has damaged Starmer more than Johnson" and "Starmer once had a pint that's obviously much worse than the highest echelons of the Government drunkenly squeezing steaming turds onto the still-warm corpse of Prince Philip" and "Contrite Johnson berates humiliated Starmer over his traitorous disloyalty and childish refusal to let plucky PM get on with the real job of fixing all the multiple intersecting crises that have mysteriously stricken the country since mid-2019".

As an aside if you can drag yourself away for the utterly dire content, the actual Express website is an unusable f.cking disaster zone as well. You'll get a migraine from shutting down all the persistent pop-ups and figuring out which links are adverts of fake misogynistic click-bait and which are the genuine Express articles ... of fake misogynistic click-bait, Local Moms won't believe No. 4.

I can't believe anybody would voluntarily put themselves through that regularly no matter how badly they are craving an echo-chamber to validate their delusions. I once tried disabling adblock to read an article on their website. Never again. Other sites seem to manage to serve ads without freezing my laptop, I'm not sure how the Independent manage to get it that badly wrong.

Express homepage doesn't seem to be focussing on partygate btw. It's Brexit, Royals, China, Royals, Royals making up the top five. Scrolling down gives me Brexit, Brexit, Brexit, Royals, and Jess Phillips calling for Boris to stay as she thinks he's an electoral liability. Then there's the Royal Family LIVE and something about how to remove limescale. Meanwhile, their most-read news articles in the UK are Travel chaos at Heathrow, Xi threatening to blow up Starlink satellites, Man who threw poisonous sausages at dogs, British holidaymaker stabbed, and something about a BA flight at Heathrow squawking 7700? So I guess the editor should be looking for something about a man stabbing sausage dogs at Heathrow instead of banging on about Brexit and Meghan.

Just days after Sue Gray’s report slammed No10’s leadership for the “culture” that led to Partygate, the Prime Minister issued a new version of the rules for ministers - allowing ministers to break the rules without resigning.

And he dismissed calls from his ethics advisor Lord Geidt, who had asked for the power to launch investigations into behaviour independently in the wake of the Downing Street flat row.

In his introduction to the previous edition of the ministerial code, the Prime Minister said ministers must "uphold the very highest standards of propriety" - words that have been removed from the revamped edition.

The new introduction says the code should "guide my ministers on how they should act and arrange their affairs".

And the foreword no longer explicitly mentions the seven Nolan principles of public life - integrity, objectivity, accountability, transparency, honesty and leadership in the public interest.
