Starmer Beergate Investigation

To be reopened

Well finally the Daily Mail gets its way. I suppose this will all hinge on whether there is any evidence that he didn’t return to work after eating but it seem a ludicrous stretch to compare this to kid’s swings being broken by unruly behaviour and suitcases full of booze.

The fact that Tory idiots had to misrepresent footage from years before the pandemic suggests this is blown out of all proportion, but that's the way populist demagogue f.ckers work - they don't try to present themselves as particularly honest, instead they try and claim that everyone else is as bad as them so people don't trust anyone at all.

What I don't understand though is, other than the short-term damage after the local elections, why the Tories think this will help them - either Starmer is let off, in which case he gets to present himself as exonerated against the Crime Minister, or he is fined, in which case he resigns and shows up the Crime Minister.

I want to know why the Telegraph apparently knew before the Labour Party

Think it's either just a desperate attempt to sling some last minute mud at him before the election (and it backfired because they didn't want the police to look into it, that way they could continue to scream hypocrisy), or they actually do think Starmer is a hypocrite and that his misdemeanor is equivalent to the Boris orgies, and they're victims of the Liberal establishment and basically the victims here because they have absolutely no self awareness. My money is on the latter.

Also, just as with Putin, I'm beginning to suspect they're not actual master strategists, but regular idiots like the rest of us, only for some time their particular strand of idiocy just happened to be aligned with what was good for them strategically.

Just seen Starmer interviewed. Roughly “working and stopped to eat - no party”

I’m pretty sure before it was “working, stopped to eat - went back to work” unless I’m mistaken. I wonder if it will all hinge on that.

Perhaps you should go off and find some evidence of that happening because right now that seems a far fetched and irrelevant comment

I’ve taken you off foe for a while - we’ll see how things go.

It appears that Corbyn has decided to comment on the Starmer investigation

https://twitter.com/susannareid100/stat ... ftOzla-Eow
Jeremy Corbyn describes the police investigation into allegations Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer broke covid rules “very serious” and “a huge development”
Flashback to when Corbyn himself broke rules https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/ ... k-rule-six

One thing I’m surprised more people aren’t commenting on: Johnson had around 9 or 10 events that potentially broke rules before the first member of the public had been vaccinated outside of a trial. Starmer had his thing almost 5 months after the vaccination program had started (he had his own first vaccination several weeks earlier) when the vaccinations were more effective because Delta hadn’t hit. Surely this combined with the different regulatory framework has some bearing on the severity of the offence (if indeed there was an offence)

So... Dan Hodges... not exactly the sharp-witted commentator he thinks he is...
Ok, I'm guessing he's trying to say that "mud sticks" and so Starmer's reputation could be ruined even if he did nothing illegal, but:
if he gets away with not breaking the law he's in the clear
doesn't exactly scan well.

I forget the timing of the vaccination roll out but have saved this pic as a handy reminder of the parties

Interesting that the initial reports were that the video was taken by a student who didn’t want to help Boris Johnson and just happened to be walking by. Actually it was James Delingpole’s son Ivo who has written articles about how great Boris Johnson is and had to walk 50 metres up a private road to get the footage. And despite the fact Starmer was there for hours the remarkably untitillating images were the best he (or whoever he is covering for) could get.

OTOH the Downing Street stuff was leaked by Cummings (and probably other insiders were involved). What politicians do behind closed doors is unlikely to be discovered by a random "concerned member of the public"

People are generally going to be dobbed in by their enemies rather than report themselves to the plod - I'm not even sure why the tories would bother concocting a cover story, other than their instinctual lying. "This is just the party on private premises where Breitbart Jr luckily happened to be walking by - think how many other illegal kormas Sir Kier must have had!" is a nice strategy because it sows FUD without being amenable to counter-evidence.
We have the right to a clean, healthy, sustainable environment.

He's not even sitting as a Labour party MP right now. I think people have thankfully - finally, and after many years of evidence - wised up to how awful that f.ckwit is as a politician and how terrible his politics are.

he has support just not within the New Blu Labour Party. Anyone that ever said, "he's a nice chap" has been expelled along with all the left wing Jewish people that don't buy in to the fact that the entire Jewish community is one big homogenous blob that all have the same opinions.
Aside from that I would imagine that Mr Corbyn is probably sitting back right about now laughing his tits off at those that thought they could mud sling at the leader of the Labour Party Leader for years without it sticking to the Labour Party as a whole. Of course the right whingers in the party have even developed themselves a phrase to explain this while at the same time still having a pop at JC, calling it "Long Corbyn" which is probably the most ludicrous thing you ever heard but it keeps them happy in the knowledge that nothing is ever their own fault.

And of course there is the fact that he wouldn't want the job again and who could blame him? Someone that spent their entire lives battling every kind of racism, to be labelled a racist by a bunch of neo-liberal frauds that wouldn't know anti-racism if it stood up in their soup, is probably more trouble than it is worth.

Cue the stalkers.....

He propped up antisemitism, engaged in antisemitic inuendo while working for the state broadcaster of the theocratic Iranian regime, and routinely platformed extreme antisemites while otherwise claiming to be fussy about which platforms he shared, went to bat for the terrorists that blew up Jewish charities at Balfour House, defended deeply antisemitic street art, and so on. It is a systematic pattern of behaviour - he simply does not see antisemitism as something to oppose, does not see antisemitism as disqualifying among those he wishes to support, to the point that he supports extreme antisemites, including praising the blood-libeller Raed Saleh and inviting him to parliament.

Trying to pretend that this is opposing every kind of racism isn't just a lie - it's pushing the idea that antisemitism doesn't count as a form of racism.

It's not my fault he lives rent free in the heads of neo-libs. H quoted my throw away comment and asked a question. I answered it (followed by the usual guilt by association wibble of a certain poster who I refuse to engage with). Hardly anything to get upset about.

You brought him up, you tedious whinging obsessive. Get over it. Your idol is out. Gone, and deservedly so, and he's a deeply unpleasant person, a promoter of racists, and he always has been. If you stop bringing it up, obviously I won't be responding to you, but if he's relevant, I won't hesitate to discuss the matter.

ETA: Alternatively, rather than whinging about the fact that people challenge you when you whinge about missing Corbyn on unrelated threads, perhaps you could try refuting so much as a single one of the examples of him promoting antisemites that you've been challenged with.
