And of course it depends how you define "leftists". A number of Labour MPs whom your average common spotted Momentum zealot might describe as Tory entryists bent undermining Labour (this would include Watson) walked before the new trigger ballot system did for them. Others walked a while ago, when the chance to run cities or museums came along.
A number of sitting Labour MPs believe that Corbyn is inherently unfit to be PM (see Rawnsley, here), but are keeping quiet for now through lack of other options, other than also walking. One of them (who has also walked, over antisemitism, he said) is actively supporting Johnson in Derby North, as we've seen elsewhere.
So, it's one of those irregular verbs.
