Oh and their poll shows Labour have a 39 point lead, and the Tories are down to 14% support.

Just out of interest I went through that word list to pick out how far down the first positive comment was.

I gave up when I finally got down to “trust (4 words)” and realised it (and anything similar) was as likely prefixed with the likes of “loss of”, “do not” and “”zero” than anything vaguely complimentary.

On the topic of "dogs that didn't bark" its genuinely surprising the LDs are not doing better given the circumstances.

You can sort of understand "Red Wallers For Brexit" going straight back to Labour but you would normally expect your standard One Nation centre-right "sensible" Tories to go to the LDs rather than completely cross the floor.

Presumably Johnson had already driven out that tranche of Tory voter in 2019 when cobbling together his unstable electoral coalition of Lexiteers and Extreme Libertarians. That 14% showing is presumably the ~10% of the populace who ascribe to Trussonomics and whatever rump remains of the One Nation Tory loyalists.

What I particularly like about all this is that it's Matt Goodwin's new grift producing it. Not sure it's going quite as he planned, but nice to see he's aiming for a new career.

We've had 4 vegetables in a row. Why not try a salad?
I'd be interested in your opinion of which PM was which specific vegetable.
Cameron - cucumber - slick and shiny, f.ck all substance, looks like a dick.
May - broccoli - boring and unloved, not missed.
Johnson - pumpkin - bloated and orange, primarily used to scare children
Truss - kebab salad - clearly made sense to somebody who was obviously pissed, by the time they'd sobered up, it had already began to curl up and turn brown stinking up the place.
Surely Johnson should be (in best Baldrick impression) a turnip shaped like a thingy?

Sticking with the unashamed Marxists at Sky News.

They currently have "Truss Day 16" as a permabox in the top left corner, regardless of content, the sort of way you would enumerate and livestream a world crisis or some other significant but short-lived national event.

I don't recall them doing that for anyone else.
Does the box have space for three digits?
Not obviously.

I'll check tomorrow if it's counting up ... or counting down
If it had been a countdown it wouldn't have been far off.

I had no idea she had teenage daughters until I saw the picture of her resignation speech outside 10 Downing Street. Those poor girls. I mean, I'm an embarrassing Dad to two teenage boys, but the worst thing I've done is sing along to the radio while my son's pal was in the car.

Yeah.. dads can be soooo embarrassing, right?

On Saturday I was singing songs (not ones about necrophilia, fisting rednecks and pole dancing in church, but also songs with quotes from Hamlet, dinosaurs & genetics) with my youngest & her boyfriend in the audience :-)

But.. Watching your mother on TV in the sort of combination train wreck and shitshow like a packed commuter train derailing into an overflowing Thames Water sewage works.. maybe Truss will need her 100k plus a year to pay for her daughters' therapy

Apparently there was going to be a Growth Visa. I imagine that wouldn't have gone down well with the Anti-Growth Coalition. They wouldn't want to let Growths in.

There are some weird adverts on Facebook right now with eg bars showing Liz Truss as a member of bar staff, coffee shops showing her as a barista. Presumably they’re mocking her, but by extension aren’t they mocking their own staff?

Liz Truss's personal phone was hacked by Putin's spies for top secret details of negotiations with allies and private messages she exchanged with Kwasi Kwarteng

Liz Truss's personal phone found to have been hacked during leadership contest

Thought to have been hacked by Russian agents suspected of working for Putin

The downloaded messages included private exchanges with Kwasi Kwarteng

Also included up to year's worth of messages, some top-secret about Ukraine

Source told Mail on Sunday phone was so compromised it is now in a locked safe

If she followed all advice by the relevant security people and she still got hacked, that sucks hugely but she is blameless. If she didn’t, she should be hung out to dry, and prosecuted if she wilfully ignored rules as opposed to slipping up. However, concealing it for political gain is just nasty.

I mean various senior Tories seem to be basically Russian agents anyway, so whatever. ;)

There’s no way she should have had anything actually marked Top Secret on her phone, I hope they’re using that phrase in a vernacular sense. Top Secret has to be viewed inside a secure facility.

I don’t put it past her to message details from top secret documents and conversations even if she doesn’t have such docs on her phone.
