Isn't there a rule in America where if you have won two presidential elections, you can't stand for a third?
"My interest is in the future, because I'm going to spend the rest of my life there"
Yea. Brought in for Roosevelt who just kept winning.
Murdoch has said he won’t back Trump. So here’s hoping that some other arse wins the nomination, the combover man baby runs anyway, the right vote gets split and they both get hammered due to the stupidity of the Electoral College.
I don't think it will matter that much if Trump wins the nomination. He will only get elected if the Democrats get completely complacent and stay away from the polls.
The independents won't be voting for Trump. I suspect there will be even more defections from the Republicans who can now see what a danger Trump is.
Trump will not run as an independent - well there is a small probability he will form a Truth Party and run as their candidate. The most likely scenario if he loses the Republican nomination is that he will enact Jan 6 again, but this time with the target the Republican Convention.
Announcing his candidacy now is a high risk strategy for Trump. He will now have to report on the donations and spending of his PACs, which means less opportunity for grift. Perhaps he is afraid Pence or DeSantis might get ahead of him, so he wants to push them out. Or he may just be finding not enough attention is being paid to him. Even without announcing his candidacy, he could still hold rallies, although fewer people were going to them.

And Trump supporters don't vote R down ticket as well.

Even without doing the work to appear on ballots as an independent, he could run a cheaper and easier write-in campaign. That wouldn't work nearly so well, but it might siphon off enough R voters to flip a few states, making places like Arizona or Pennsylvania easier for D's.
I certainly hope you're right about piss flavored cotton candy for hair boy splitting the repugnican vote and ruining ron f.cking desantis' chances to get elected. Jesus f.cking H. Christ, if that happens mitch captain misery McConnell might not even win the biggest douche in the universe award again, spoiling his long run of sequential wins.
How much of the Trump arrest will be on telly? Or leaked afterwards?
I want to watch him get fingerprinted. I want to see the mug shots.
The only source of the claim he is getting arrested tomorrow is Trump. Maybe when he doesn't get arrested tomorrow, he can tell the supporters who he called out to demonstrate against it they successfully deterred the arrest.
If he really does know he is getting definitely to be arrested precisely tomorrow, it is probably because he has agreed to be arrested by appointment at a police station. In such a case, there won't be the "perp walk" before the cameras.
What we know that Trump knows is that the Grand Jury process is close to completion. So if the Grand Jury does determine to indict, resulting in a warrant for his arrest, that may come soon. Tomorrow v soon, is v might, fairly small imprecisions by Trump standards.
