One of the things I hate is people diagnosing others on the internet

One of the other things I hate is Donald Trump.

I hate Donald Trump more than people diagnosing others on the internet.

So what’s up with this picture?
Looks like burns from picking up a hot pan while cooking for his wife and son.

But are we sure it's not a faked picture?

I would have guessed "chafing" first. But only because I find it amusing.

It does appear to be real. And his hand was fine in Iowa so it’s recent.

As an aside Alina Habba - his lawyer in the E Jean Carroll case is crashing and burning in court. This thread is amazing. https://x.com/innercitypress/status/174 ... 11593?s=61
I’ve decided I should be on the pardon list if that’s still in the works

And Alina Habba is pissing off the judge even more today. Some reports she’s been paid 2.5 million dollars for legal services which, if true, wouldn’t seem to be vague for money.

The story of how/why Trump hired Alina Habba is entertainingly disreputable.

Habba approached an employee of a Trump-owned golf club, who was alleging sexual misconduct by the manager. Habba persuaded the employee to ditch her lawyer, sign a very restrictive NDA, and accept a very small amount of damages. This, fortunately, is all very illegal. In a further case, the NDA was deemed unenforceable, proper damages paid. And Habba got herself referred to the New Jersey office of attorney ethics.

In the article I first read this in, it was alleged she probably did this to advertise herself to Trump. This seems to have been successful, and Trump took her on, a lawyer of no great accomplishment, in place of lawyers of better repute. But maybe a lawyer who would behave like that is the kind of lawyer likes.

Looking at that she seems remarkably unsuccessful unless it’s against….errr…Michael Cohen

I wonder if she will actually get paid. Trump has a history of not paying lawyers, especially if they lose their cases.

Well, she does have a middle name that is like the sign-off to many of Trump's tweets

Secure enough to invade the Baltic States.
And remember that if you botch the exit, the carnival of reaction may be coming to a town near you.

DeSantis out here canceling TV appearances like they're Black history courses in Florida.
DeSantis drops out with a fake Churchill quote.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."

- Winston Churchill
The quote was actually a Budweiser advert.

Budweiser and not Churchill aside, anyone else find it a bit weird to use a quote about having the courage to carry on when you're quitting?

I don't think many modern politicians have any options left. No matter what they say, they've flooded the zone with so much sh.t for so long, every possible statement they could make will necessarily show rampant and obvious irony.

That being said, I couldn't be happier than to see ron defuckingsantis dropping out of the race.

It's like the repugnicans are all trying for the new total dictator spot that's opening up, and campaigning under a 'biggest douchebag' platform. Although platform implies some sort of thingie to stand on, perhaps some planks.

I think this election cycle is more akin to a big box, overflowing into the surrounding pristine countryside, with heaps of steaming dog sh.t, candidate standing on top, with two megaphones, complaining that someone is using the wrong bathroom.

I think 8f you could transmit the smell of the scene I've created here thru the Internet, you'd be giving everyone a pretty realistic view of the upcoming American election

Sounds like some Brexiteers I've come across recently: "the system" has failed, I don't trust the people in power, so what we need to do is make life a load more sh.t for everyone

There's even a recognition that it's bad, possibly catastrophic for the country as a whole, but still feels it's better than the status quo.

Sounds plausible.

The thing about the man in New Hampshire is that he's a retired army officer and seems to live in a comfortable house. He probably has a decent income. He isn't angry that the system has failed him personally. He seems to be upset because other people are doing things that he doesn't like. He's not someone who can be persuaded by policy proposals.

He also gets a pension, veteran discounts, special parking spots at hardware stores, special license plates, free university education, and free government healthcare. Which he opposes for others.

Trump is always so supportive and complimentary of veterans and their families. I'm sure he'll continue all of this support if he becomes president again.
