Food safety and foreign pork

Post by Grumble » Fri Mar 31, 2023 9:42 pm

Farmers Weekly making a big noise about this story:

I assume the customers of the company alleged to have falsified documents - almost anyone selling pork products it seems - have been given the name of the company involved. There’s certainly a fair amount of concern being expressed.

Not surprised. A few years ago I was chatting with some academics involved in food safety who said food fraud was attracting criminals because it was easier money than drugs.

My brother works in the food industry, not anywhere near anything like this thankfully, he says this has been building for a while and will end up in the criminal courts.
