One day, the Emir overheard Nasreddin Hodja boasting that he could teach a donkey to talk. The Emir was so impressed that he ordered Hodja to teach his donkey to talk, giving him a huge purse of gold coins but threatening him with death if he failed and the donkey still couldn't talk after ten years.

When Hodja's wife heard this, she wailed and berated him, saying he would surely be killed for failing the Emir's impossible task.

Don't worry, said Hodja. We've got the money, and ten years before we need to teach the donkey talk. In that time, three things could happen: I might die; the Emir might die; or maybe the donkey will learn to talk.
Derail (but maybe not completely)

When the Emir visited the town, he notice the Mullah Nasrudin sitting against a wall with a fishing net round his shoulders. Asked why, the mullah explained that, though he was now a respected mullah, he was once a poor fisherman, and wore the net to remind himself of his humble origins. The Emir was so impressed that he made him Chief Magistrate for life. On the mullah's first day in court, his friend notice he was no longer wearing the net, and asked why. "Well," explained the mullah, "Once the fish is caught..."

It's fairly sickening to see how often young people are failed by the system and the end up being treated as troublemakers themselves.
To defy the laws of tradition is a crusade only of the brave.
