Parenting and teaching kids about consent - split from Misogyny legislation
having that swing is a necessary but not sufficient condition for it meaning a thing

Re: Misogyny legislation
Not entirely sure what relevance this has to the thread (might split if there's an ongoing discussion) but I reckon that had the same parent told their kids they had to do stuff 'because I say so' they may well have run into similar issues. Kids test boundaries no? I dunno, I'm not a parent. But possibly it's easier to spot 'problems' if you try to do things differently to how they were perceived to have been done in the past, or the status quo.shpalman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 9:19 amI taught my young boys about consent and now they won't do what I tell them
To defy the laws of tradition is a crusade only of the brave.

Not relevant at all but interesting. A split would be good, thanks.discovolante wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 9:57 amNot entirely sure what relevance this has to the thread (might split if there's an ongoing discussion) but I reckon that had the same parent told their kids they had to do stuff 'because I say so' they may well have run into similar issues. If they don't have to wash when they come in covered I mud, then equally you don't have to let them in the house?shpalman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 9:19 amI taught my young boys about consent and now they won't do what I tell them

Or hose them down outside. They need to learn that choices have consequences.Trinucleus wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 2:00 pmIf they don't have to wash when they come in covered I mud, then equally you don't have to let them in the house?shpalman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 9:19 amI taught my young boys about consent and now they won't do what I tell them
