My mother has dementia so cant sort many things herself, so this morning, I phoned the GP surgery for a home visit for her.
So I can be there, I asked for an approximate time. The reply - "We cant really say and it may not be the doctor. Some appointments are transferred over to the Paramedics"
Since when has the paramedic service been used in this way?
Or am I too healthy to have noticed?

Can't answer for how long, but I noticed last time (about the weeks ago) I went to our surgery (ill son), we were seen by the Practice Paramedic.

Re: Normal Practice?
Up to a point, some triage can be a good thing. But the underlying reason seems to be that GPs are now inaccessible unless you are dying, or pretend to be dying. It takes >3 weeks to get a non-urgent appointment with mine, and when I went, it took a month to get an appointment with the nurse for some tests.
Just tell 'em I'm broke and don't come round here no more.

Still, that's 6 months faster than it took me to get an appointment for a physical with a Nurse Practitioner here.GeenDienst wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 2:38 pmUp to a point, some triage can be a good thing. It was a paramedic.
My daughter and my mother thought he was gorgeous so it cheered them both up
