"You have the floor for 1 minute"

...which means Hoyer and McCarthy have a minute of indefinite time and can speak for hours if they like.

Just as it comes out that McCarthy's campaign got money from Russia via Guiliani and Parnas.

Well, that's the fun bit over. Now we get to see them let him off and re-energise his voter base.

Everybody loves a winner.

Why do you think he'll get off? It's a simple story and the evidence is overwhelming. The Senate knows he's guilty.

There's only so much rigging the blackmailed pawns in the Senate can do.

Today's news is that every Rep will vote to acquit. Game over.

Or the House can keep investigating and adding new articles.

What would it take for Moscow Mitch and his flock to actually vote to make Mike Pence the president, though?

And the Reps will still acquit him, and every time helps him to look like a poor, persecuted victim.

We've had our fun, but this isn't going anywhere good.

Yep. People will just get bored of hearing about it, like Brexit.

It's times like this that I think an independent judiciary might be a good idea lol

The fivethirtyeight average is not that bullish.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/im ... id=rrpromo

Still, impeachment is more popular than not. And a clear majority of Americans think he's committed impeachable offences. It's just that there's about 10% who think he's committed impeachable offences but don't think he should actually be impeached for them.

50% of whom?

Until it's 50% of Rep Senators, this is a waste of air.

You are clearly new to "internet forums". The way it works is you don't have to post on every thread. If there's a thread you know little about, simply read it but don't post. Shout if you want any other tips.

It's true. The Dems won't stop till they've impeached every man, woman and child in America.

Of course, The Dems are only impeaching Trump because he won. They wouldn't have done it if he'd lost.

Christianity Today gets involved

Against Trump.
But the facts in this instance are unambiguous: The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents. That is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral.

The reason many are not shocked about this is that this president has dumbed down the idea of morality in his administration. He has hired and fired a number of people who are now convicted criminals. He himself has admitted to immoral actions in business and his relationship with women, about which he remains proud. His Twitter feed alone—with its habitual string of mischaracterizations, lies, and slanders—is a near perfect example of a human being who is morally lost and confused.
