Ivor Cummins is now claiming that lockdowns coincide with drops in cases because governments time the announcement of lockdowns to coincide with the natural variations in the cycle of infection numbers.
I seem to have got under his skin several times. Which is encouraging.
Good on you! Hope this does too (yes, I'm afraid it's yet another Downfall parody but as Cummins has used the word himself & it's actually quite funny I make no apologies).

I'm trying to work out when that map might be accurate (if ever).

Alaska is shown as part of the US, so it has to be after 1867, and Papua New Guinea is also shown which only came about after WW1.

But there seems to be one country called "Arabia" which covers the entire Arabian peninsula including Iraq, Syria Jordan and Israel. I know Oman was a separate entity from the mid 17th century.

Neither Belgium nor the Netherlands appear to exist, again suggesting some time before the mid 17th century.

There also appears to be a country called "Morocco" which covers Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. For these to be considered one country I think you have to go back to the 1500s. I know France 'colonised' (ie, conquered) these countries during the 19th century, but a) they always treated them as separate countries, and b) there should be definite separate states in the Arabian peninsula by then.

There appears to be a country roughly in the location of Bangladesh. This could either be the Sultanate of Bengal (14th-16th centuries) or Bangladesh (1947 onwards).

So it's either some time after 1947, or some time before the 1500s, when neither Australia nor New Zealand had even been discovered (by white men) yet.

There's no distinction between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, so it's pre 1949, and the Italian Peninsula seems to be two separate states, which would place it before the mid 19th century. But Australia and New Zealand are coloured differently, which suggests that they aren't colonies under the same British rule, so it's after your Federation (1901) and/or our Dominion (1907).

Anyway, the map is nonsense. But it's probably a red herring when he's arguing more dangerous nonsense.

I think that is down as "Maghreb".

My first assumption given the North Asian countries was he was using the Risk map as part of some obscure play on COVID/vaccine/lockdown/civil liberties risk.

The Reds need to watch out, if the Greens can hold onto Oceania they'll get two more armies next round.

Unsurprisingly all the comments beneath appeared to be along the lines of "Fank you for this improtrant video, the 5 minutes i haz spent on the youtubez now makes me qualified to comment authoritatively on the SCAMdemic, I shall now widely publicise this on my social media accounts" :|

Germany's captured Belgium and Holland. Italy has broken in two.

But it's the northern lands that are interesting - multiple countries in Canada and Russia. This implies it's a post global warming map, when everyone migrates to the lush tropical forests in Siberia and Greenland. Refugees fleeing north might conceivably create new nations in these currently unpopulated zones.

I think that the map comes from a strategy game. For example, 'Arabia' and Finland never had those borders except in the imaginations of nationalists. The map looks like what would happen if someone gamed an alternate reality.

No, but if I was pulling in something North of €10k per month through my "content" denying the severity of Covid and shouting about my analytical skillz - I might at least check that I wasn't using a fictional map.

It does highlight his attention to detail in a way that might get through some people in a way that his complete lack of understanding about when integration is sensible mightn't

Meanwhile while Western Canada is under US occupation; in the East New Brunswick and Nova Scotia have been outright annexed. :?

Somebody's clearly implemented War Plan Red.

Arrrrghh - wish the bank would calculate my wealth by taking the area under the cumulative curve depicting the balance of the account that I left with just £1 in it back in 1985. Instead of just putting it at about £1.30.

Seriously that's the weirdest map I've seen in my life.

So we've got Russia split up into administrative regions. Tibet is sodding enormous. I mean, the last time Tibet was last that big was about the 790's.

What the hell is with Mahgreb? Is he thinking of the Barbary States? Bit... Generalist? Bit... 1780's? No? Sure?

I do wish I had a better picture to look at, to see what his geography of Africa looks like. Quite telling I would think.

Very interesting that whoever drew this map has Canada split into very general regions as well. Last I checked, Canada, Quebec, Greenland, et al. were all one country and have never been those specific countries in the past.

It could be a map from somewhere between "here be dragons" and "I see no ships". It's definitely not one created by (or utilised by) somebody who thinks beyond the 18th century though.

In my humble opinion.

That's why Lake Chad and the Aral Sea are the size they are People built barriers around the world and put all the excess water in those places.

My parents got a shiny leaflet through the letterbox pushing the usual dangerous anti-Vaxx, anti-mask, Scamdemic b.llsh.t.

According to them it is supposedly written by three GPs.

Caveats: I haven’t seen it so don’t know if they actually claim to be GPs, or just happen to have Doctor in front of their name (doctor of what? Naturopathy? Theology? Engineering? Literature?) also haven’t been able to confirm if the writers are genuine people and not just invented by the c.nts behind the leaflet. They certainly aren’t local GPs whose names I recognise.

Assuming however they are genuine people and genuinely GPs, I wonder if there would be any mileage in filing a complaint to the GMC? I’ve asked them to email me a copy if they can fish it out recycling.
