About 14% of severe covid cases seem to be due to genetic (4%) or auto-immune (10%) loss of function in type I interferon according to those two papers by the same authors but in a different order.

Hidden immune weakness found in 14% of gravely ill COVID-19 patients
having that swing is a necessary but not sufficient condition for it meaning a thing

I looked up Interferon type I on wikipedia and it says Not to be confused with Interferon type II.
having that swing is a necessary but not sufficient condition for it meaning a thing
