I reckon I've got a few days left. SO just tested covids, and I got novids. I've got symptoms, but had them a while now and they're better than they were (tested negative back then too).

She seems fine right now, mostly annoyed she can't go out.

The day before yesterday I began to have the symptoms of a very slight cold, but didn't think much of it. I was just on the return leg of my vacation. Today it got a bit worse, so I took a test and it was positive. This despite having had a 4th jab with the updated vaccine a couple of months ago.
This puts in doubt the Christmas dinner family get together, which is a shame.

Woke up this morning feeling a bit more coldy than yesterday, so I did a test. I got novids.

I made it all the way through 2020, 2021 and 2022 without testing positive (and was PCR tested weekly for much of that).

Didn't make it a whole day into 2023.

But since I made it to Christmas, I guess I won CoVIDageddon.

That was mid November. Taken until early January for me to throw off the cough, fatigue and Covidbrain.

Hopefully I don't get that, since I'm supposed to go to Denver/Boulder in 8 days (>1 mile altitude), and then to Hawaii (2.65 mile altitude) in 15 days.

You don't know what variant anyone here has - and the one you named doesn't even exist.

There is no XB1.35 variant. The only example I can find of a variant named that way comes from a very odd twitter account, that uses exactly the same phrase as you.

The newer variants are not worse than earlier variants, just more infective. A worse variant would be one that made people more likely to be hospitalised or to die.

Actually just realised maybe the XB1.35 is a cross between the B-1 and the X-35??? A Rockwell-Lockheed-Martin variant?

An X-29/B-1 hybrid would be fun - Swing wings that go into a swept forward position.

I thought it was a real variant.- I realize its not a real account-
There is a new one that is becoming predominant in the north east US
XBB.1.5 is the correct designation.

Covid is far from over, and new variants from China are a concern -and we have dropped all our precautions, nobody is masking. no lockdowns or restrictions of any kind. As far as I know the vaccinations are still protective against severe outcomes, but there are no guarantees.
500 people a day are dying in the UK> Nobody cares.

I did rather suspect you had copied something because it affirmed your existing position, rather than for its accuracy. A quick look at the twitter account should have given the game away.

Yes, I should have looked at the twitter account more critically.
I had read the eric topol analysis of XBB.1.5, and it was stuck in my mind, although I must admit I dont understand the whole thing.
I find this variant very worrying and we have become way too complacent w.r.t. Covid.

Boris Johnson tried to put up tax to pay for health/social care. It was unpopular.

He was overthrown.

His replacements reversed the tax increase. This was popular.

Let's face it, the English electorate choose excess deaths from Covid, flu and the collapsed NHS. Your concern, Herainestold, puts you in a minority.

It's 500 per week, numbnuts, which is about 2-3% of all the deaths there are. Only about two thirds of these list covid as an actual cause of death.
