Oh, thanks for that! I've signed up for the slugs and one on biological records. There's also one on the Knepp estate and its rewilding that's probably worth flagging.

This (from the York Festival of Ideas) may be of interest

First Light: Switching on stars at the dawn of time

Emma Chapman
Saturday 19 June 2021, 11am to 12pm
Event details
Astronomers have successfully observed a great deal of the Universe's history, from recording the afterglow of the Big Bang to imaging thousands of galaxies, and even to visualising an actual black hole. There's a lot for astronomers to be smug about. But when it comes to understanding how the Universe began and grew up we are literally in the dark ages. In effect, we are missing the first one billion years from the timeline of the Universe.

The National Astronomy Meeting was held in Bath a couple of weeks ago (sort of, it was a virtual meeting)

There are recordings of the plenary sessions here:

https://nam2021.org/

Plenty to catch up on, I'm particularly looking forward to hearing Prof Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell talking about Caroline Herschel and women in astronomy today

Dr Robert Lustig's lectures probably deserve their own thread. Would love to see them discussed here
