I'm a professional physicist, and he didn't even explain the physics I know in a way I understood.

Really? Not my experience with him at all. Firstly, he couldn't quote on how many of each shape we needed, and then, for some reason, he couldn't finish in a neat line at the bathroom door threshold and ended up laying them along the landing, then down the stairs and out the front. Mentioned something about a periodic desolation, and I thought "too right, mate". Last I saw of him, he'd tiled next door's front lawn and was on his knees heading slowly for Surbiton.
