A chap with a history of psychological problems decided to inject a broth made from magic mushrooms after discovering that eating them could help with certain mental health issues.

Unfortunately the mushrooms started to grow in in him, along with a bacterial infection, making him profoundly ill. Apparently he’s not the first person to have done this.

Some time last year I heard of an incident where someone wanting to inject themselves with ricin actually injected themselves with castor oil. Wasn't a massively healthy outcome
