Overhyped battery claims

I’m sick of “battery breakthroughs”. Seen lots of uncritical reporting of a new type of sulphur cathode Li ion batteries (some which seemed to suggest these weren’t Li ion batteries at all, which is bizarre). Anyway, the articles seem to be about this, which is a new membrane. It’s good, but it’s literally a couple of test tubes at this point. Let’s hope it goes somewhere, but it’s a long way from even a prototype yet.

I bought some of those Energiser rabbit batteries, but my vibrator only lasted like four w.nks.

Talk about overhyped!

Damn it, that's who I meant!!

My ability to remember batter manufacturer mascots? Demonstrably overhyped.

You weren't that wrong, in the US it's the Energizer bunny.

It does link to the paper and actually seems to be looking at the entitlement for this approach.
