Viking runestone connected to climate change

Post by jimbob » Thu Jan 09, 2020 4:34 pm

Interesting article arguing that I haven't fully read yet, just being on a phone, but ascribing the carving of the runestone to a climate downturn being interpreted as the start of the Fimbulwinter and the war mentioned being Ragnarok

Have you considered stupidity as an explanation

One of the world's most famous runestones is now believed to have been erected by Vikings fearing a repeat of a previous cold climate crisis in Scandinavia,
And back then it was not their fault, it was genuinely freak weather. Now we have no excuse to mythologise on rune stones.
