In the footsteps of Ice Age animals

Post by Fishnut » Tue Nov 12, 2019 4:26 pm

This is wonderful work. The researchers used ground-penetrating radar on the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico, USA, to detect footprints from mammoths, ground sloths and humans. The Conservation piece is really good at explaining the research - the comparison between modern elephants and mammoths was fascinating - and the Nature paper is open access.
it's okay to say "I don't know"
