It's all good fun until the baying mob turn up with pitchforks and torches* and set fire to the phone masts because 5G is a witch.

Re: Corona-woo
Hey, genius, that new phone in your pocket is a 5G transmitter too. Throw it in the canal. If it floats, it's a witch and you have to burn it. If it sinks, it was okay, but either way it gets you off the internet which will do everyone a favour.
Re: Corona-woo
Have yet to work out if this is a Poe.
Re: Corona-woo
Just noticed that Rich Scopie had previously posted this in the 5G thread. Apologies to Rich.

Re: Corona-woo
A few days ago someone resurrected a WhatsApp group* with a link to the interview with Lord Sumption on Newsnight (or whatever it was) where he went on about mass hysteria, deprivation of liberties etc. So far so men, I didn't really agree with him entirely and think he's a bit up his own arse but whatever. This morning the same person links to a 30 minute interview with Shiva Ayyadurai about (based on 2 mins of listening and the video description) anti vaccine and 5G conspiracy stuff, plus another long article with an interview with Dr Stefano Montanari, who I hadn't heard of before.
Anyway I'm a group admin as are lots of us so I've half a mind to just kick her out of the group but I might face a backlash among the people on there who agree with her. f.cking annoying thing to get first thing in the am though.
*it was a largish group related to a festival a couple of years ago, friends of friends etc, I dont actually know this person

Re: Corona-woo
Wouldn't entirely surprise me if the person resurrected that WhatsApp group precisely because their usual social media have stomped on their sharing crazy conspiracy bollocks. Not sure just how stompy I would be but I wouldn't just let it go.

Haha er sorry just realised that I meant 'meh' not 'men', this wasn't a complaint about the patriarchy.
Well someone I am friends with is receiving it positively which does not surprise me, I am not sure she is anti vax but she is into the sort of wellness/diet cures all ills side of it all. I dont really want to cause a row with her about it in public. It's also a 30 minute video and a massive long article so I dont have time to deal with that amount of drivel...do they do this on purpose?
I suspect she is just sharing it with all and sundry rather than being told where to go by other people.

We all have a duty to prevent the spread of the virus, we all have a duty to prevent the spread of the misinformation about the virus.
Just NMC her out the group and don't spend another moment worrying about it.

If you are group admin, can you just delete/disband the entire group as not relevant anymore? That'd mean you don't have to wade through 30 minute videos of woo, and with the excuse that it's 2 years old.discovolante wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 9:27 amHaha er sorry just realised that I meant 'meh' not 'men', this wasn't a complaint about the patriarchy.

No if that was the reason it would make more sense to just leave the group.Martin_B wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 9:31 amIf you are group admin, can you just delete/disband the entire group as not relevant anymore? Why didn't we thought of that earlier: COVID19 and Glyphosate are related of course!

All you need to keep COVID-19 out of your house is a visit from a white whale.

Outside that bubble Trump supporters are currently tying themselves in all sorts of strange knots to persuade everyone else that COVID-19 appeared out of no-where on the 12th March and nothing you remember from January and February actually happened so really it's the WHO are to blame for the US's piss-poor response and all of Trump's moronic statements on the subject.jimbob wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 2:39 pmWhere the hell do you get this stuff?sTeamTraen wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 1:37 pmAll you need to keep COVID-19 out of your house is a visit from a white whale.

It's quite interesting seeing some trying to respond to criticism of Matt Hancock, when I have limited it to the issue of PPE, and why it was only last week that he announced that he wss asking UK manufacturers to start making PPE.
The answer is something, something, shoddy journalists.

Just tell 'em to hop it.

COVID-19 caused by glyphosate. I think we're getting close to a call of "house".
