Ah, just the latter. Surprised they didn’t save that piece up for when they may need it. It was Sheku Kanneh-Mason as well.

Kellogg's and United Biscuits are on the list, who make Pringles and Twiglets respectively.nekomatic wrote: Thu Sep 08, 2022 3:13 pmWell you’ve left it a bit flipping late to try and find out, haven’t you?Bird on a Fire wrote: Thu Sep 08, 2022 2:29 pm I wonder what the queen's favourite crisps are? Can't say I've ever spotted one of those "by appointment" thingies on a bag of quavers.
I can’t see any crisp-related Royal Warrant holders , unless one counts Waitrose. HM appears to be (or have been) more of a chocolate kind of a woman.

It probably will be announced in the morning. It's been announced today, too, though.

Also even if they'd planned to delay the announcement, everybody already knew so why prolong the charade?

Re: The Queen
I spend time in an online group that is very useful for information about the Ukraine war, with a lot of ex-service people and generally right-of-centre leanings. (To be fair, everyone apart from the full-Trump right and the tankies seems to be pro-Ukraine.) They tolerate my wokeness (e.g., the fact that I don't think that paedophiles should be castrated in public), but I'm going to be keeping my head down for a while. I suspect that my reluctance to change my avatar to a black blob will not go down very well. I expect a lot of mourning one-upmanship in the next few days, like poppy season on steroids.

She's dead. She was 96 and lived in splendour her entire life, she was alright, for a Queen so I'm pretty much meh about the whole thing.
However, I just sicked a bit when I realised Charlie is king. Someone dig the guillotine out of storage, be a dear.

The original guillotine blade what did Marie Antoinette was the first item in the Madame Tussaud’s exhibition and is still there.nezumi wrote: Thu Sep 08, 2022 6:13 pm She's dead. It would be poetic. Axe it is.
I don't hate the individual people (mostly, although Andrew can get in the f.cking sea) but the institution needs to go. I do see royalism declining a lot once we have Charles on the throne. I doubt it'd come to a beheading but... well... I wouldn't be attending the protest against it.

Jokes aside, I want the monarchy gone, but I'm absolutist on capital punishment, so I would be against chopping someone's head off.nezumi wrote: Thu Sep 08, 2022 6:30 pmIt would be poetic. And I prefer the sound of a bludgeoning over a swift sharp strike.

Did William become Prince of Wales instantly? With an investiture to follow? Or does it only happen with the ceremony?

Oryginalne ostrze gilotyny, które zrobiła Maria Antonina, było pierwszym przedmiotem na wystawie Madame Tussaud i nadal tam jest.

Re: The Queen
He becomes Duke of Cornwall (and Rothesay) instantly, but Prince of Wales is an awarded title. Charles obviously becomes Duke of Lancaster.lpm wrote: Thu Sep 08, 2022 6:44 pm Did William become Prince of Wales instantly? With an investiture to follow? Or does it only happen with the ceremony?
Feel quite sad. Probably going to avoid this thread.
