Nice, I shall watch that later.

I gave a talk to our Astro Society about the 1919 Eclipse and its role in the proof of General Relativity, and included a section on the EHT imaging of the M87 Black Hole

This gives a sense of the imaging resolution - the inset in the top image would be about 0.6 mm at arms length.

My avatar was a scientific result that was later found to be 'mistaken' - I rarely claim to be 100% correct
ETA 5/8/20: I've been advised that the result was correct, it was the initial interpretation that needed to be withdrawn
Meta? I'd say so!

While the resolution at the bottom is about 0.6 mm at a distance equal to the radius of the earth. Or the distance between London and Chicago.
