This is not a parody...

I’m looking to raise £1000 to cover the cost of purchasing a pair of PURDEY Sterling Silver Duelling Cufflinks from Harrods, These cufflinks cost £645 and then the additional funds will be used to get a professional engraving put onto each cufflinks.
No matter where you stand left-wing or right-wing , you can only agree that Boris has led the United Kingdom through COVID-19 with sheer determination and passion for his country and the people within. Boris has worked relentlessly and if we look at what our UK Prime Minister is paid compared to that of a professional footballer It is minuscule especially for doing the job that he does and having the burden of responsibility that he does.
Duelling cufflinks? Are they like duelling banjos? I don't see how that works.
Can we get them engraved: "Thank you for ignoring your doctor's advice and staying at work in order to appear tough, no matter how unproductive you became, until the point you realised you were really going to die and spent days in intensive care followed by a long convalescence while you were too weak to work. This gift from a grateful nation was inspired by some Daily Express reading cockend who thinks that's the most patriotic thing he's ever heard of".
I don't really know how big these cufflinks are.

I think this whole Boris thing will raise the value of the NHS when Boris sells it to the yanks. They probably wish they had it now.

I'm sure everyone has Johnson talking about his
debt to the NHS.
£350 million a week, wasn't it?
having that swing is a necessary but not sufficient condition for it meaning a thing

Well you can't really owe something that never existed in the first place.*

I do wonder if it would be possible to estimate the cost of Johnson's stay in hospital.
In a world where
this 99-year-old war veteran has raised £4 million for the NHS I really have extremely little time for Johnson saying he "owes a debt".

Raising charity money for the NHS is a terrible mistake. Coming up with the "cost" of a person's visit to the NHS is a terrible terrible mistake.
The NHS must always be a service supplied by the nation through progressive taxation, it is not a charity. Costs are shared across society, they must never be allocated to an individual.

£4m is 2 hours worth of £350m per week

It has always struck me as obscene that the air ambulances and the RNLI seem to be funded entirely by charity. This is not how it should be.

A doctor friend of mine in the States estimated that when Mrs V had Legionnaires her stay in hospital, including the time in ICU, would have come to about $350k in all.
Just saying

RNLI has always resisted the idea of government funding - poss 'cos that would mean gov wanting a say in how its run and it leaves the risk of cuts as we've seen in public services under tory govs.

So aren't you impressed with the £12.5-million that the Duke of Westminster has publicly donated?
I do hope he can deduct that from his incredibly onerous taxes.

A speaker we (Pedmore Men's Club) had from air ambulance said they prefered not to have Government Funding.

This account on Instagram is sharing versions of Downing Street's covid communiqué with added artwork by recipients' children.
I think this one is my favourite:

When Boris reemerges into public view, is he going to look like Emperor Palpatine?
That would be awesome.

I must admit I am rather disappointed in the virus, too.

Our air ambulance is appealing for donations of PPE. Because they're not part of the NHS they're not on the distribution pathway.
