Ecotricity founder to grow diamonds 'made entirely from the sky'
Chemical vapor deposition of 'diamond-like carbon' is already a thing, by the way.

having that swing is a necessary but not sufficient condition for it meaning a thing

Depends if you get the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere which has been exhaled by animals or not.

CVD diamond is amazing as a thermal conductor. I was at a GEC site that used it in the 1990s and they had an open day. The demo was a wire coated in CVD diamond, and you could hold and slice though an ice cube just by melting it with the warmth of your thumb and finger
Have you considered stupidity as an explanation
Re: Dale in the lab with sky diamonds
The claim to 'capture' carbon may be true, but it's definitely over-stated, as the carbon capture is negligible.
If producing 200 carats per month, it'll capture about as much as you produce driving half a mile in a car (assume 40mpg).
But the real comparison should be against mined diamonds, which I understand would use the equivalent of 140,000 miles worth of fuel to extract 200 carats.

My avatar was a scientific result that was later found to be 'mistaken' - I rarely claim to be 100% correct

Meta? I'd say so!
