Like spending 5 days with a naked Sting standing next to you, ironically a little too close?
Meanwhile things which had started the process a light shade of pink are now definitely turning bright blue.
This place is not a place of honor, no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here, nothing valued is here.
What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us.
This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

There appears to be a venue across the road called The State Room so maybe Trump didn't realize that he was in some industrial estate on the edge of town.
having that swing is a necessary but not sufficient condition for it meaning a thing

AP too, given that the Guardian also has it. (ETA but not Fox yet.)

Am I being too pessimistic to think that we can't relax until Biden is actually sworn in?

I don’t expect Trumps press conference to go smoothly. Accidentally booking it at a garden centre can’t have helped.

The press conference appears to have been delayed.

Not least due to cars with Black Lives Matter and Biden Harris flags driving by cheering.

I haven't relaxed in a political sense for at least the last 10 years. But I haven't seen anything to make me doubt the integrity of the US electoral system, so I think we can allow ourselves to feel at least a little bit good about this.

My flat mate, who is from Texas just banged on my door in tears, happy that she doesn't have to give up her citizenship. Had Trump been re-elected she would have renounced it.

But it's worrying to think that the margins are so narrow that if it weren't for Trump's catastrophic handling of COVID that there's a very real chance he would have got a 2nd term

Trump's team has of course said they're not having any of it and will start legal proceedings on Monday.

Meanwhile Rudy Giuliani is apparently making baseless allegations of fraud and irregularities to a dwindling amount of press in a yard behind a garden centre.

The entire complaint seems to be that a poll watcher was made to stand 20ft away. They already lost on this nonsense in court in several states.
