There was a programme following Obama's team through his campaign. A young black intern was just crying on the phone to his mum when it was declared. Seems an age ago....

My thoughts exactly.

Super weird choice of venue. Maybe nobody else wants them any more?
shpalman wrote: Sat Nov 07, 2020 4:04 pm The Trump campaign is holding a press conference at Four Seasons Total Landscaping in Philadelphia at 4:30pm (UK time) for some unknown reason.

I googled the place to see what it looked like.

Yes, really a landscaping company next to an adult bookshop and not a Four Seasons hotel
TBF, it's entirely on brand - especially with the neighbouring adult bookshop

It's 23C, sunny, and downtown Maynard, MA has a group of 10 people dancing with BLM and Biden Harris signs, and one late middle aged white woman with a Trump flag and a cigarette hanging out of her mouth.

I cracked open a pint of Spitfire (would have been Black Sheep, but supermarket substitution) and listened to PM. I enjoyed the pint especially while listening to a Trump adviser.

Lazy scriptwriting.

We are supposed to contrast the grandeur of Trump at his peak lording it over everyone from the White House with the full might of the US behind him, with the sad closing scene of him ranting like a demented wino about being the real President from a derelict parking lot outside an adult bookshop called Fantasy Island to an indifferent gaggle of bored journalists, with Rudy standing behind him m.st.rbating himself through his stained trousers.

We are supposed to feel pathos but I think it’s a bit too on the nose.

Of course it's entirely in keeping with the character that he was out golfing. Wonder if he was in a bunker.

A celebratory Deya Brewery 'Into the Haze'. Imported with a lot of expense by me. Over-hopped to f.ck, but delicious.
Time for a big fat one.

Fox now has, which is the most important step.
Trump's team has of course said they're not having any of it and will start legal proceedings on Monday.

Meanwhile Rudy Giuliani is apparently making baseless allegations of fraud and irregularities to a dwindling amount of press in a yard behind a garden centre.

Apparently they are having to be careful of camera angles as one of the neighbouring buildings is an adult bookshop.

From Laura Ingraham:-
“Why aren’t the best lawyers in America on television night after night explaining the president’s legal claims?”
It’s a mystery Laura, why wouldn’t America’s best lawyers be willing to put their reputation on the line to support Trump’s mad claims?

I can only assume next to the smutty bookshop is the office of Saul Goodman and the next we see of Trump he’ll be involved some bizarre scam involving some Latino meth dealers, a briefcase full of cash and an exploding tortoise.

I've a Galway Bay red ale which I'd forgotten I had.

Paddy Power have now launched a "Trump Concession Special", where you can bet on "When will Donald Trump publicly concede?" At the moment, "Before November 13th" is at 5-2 against, and "November 13th 2020 or later/Never" is at 4-1 on!

I'm looking forward to Trump being physically removed from the Whitehouse on the 20th of January and just dumped on the street outside the gates.

Ridiculous I know, as if he'll be in the Whitehouse. I expect him to be golfing between now and then, angrily tweeting and sulkily refusing to do any presidenting.

There's still the Senate race though*. CNN currently have 48 D v 47 R, but NBC have 48 D v 48 R.

Alaska's not called, but Dr. Gross is a hell of a long shot at this point. They won't count most of the vote - the mail vote - until next week.

Georgia's going to have a double runoff.

Not sure if everyone has called Captain Kelly beating Martha McSally yet, but if they haven't, they should. He's running acouple of points ahead of Biden in Arizona, and Arizona is still looking like Biden should come out on top.
