Does this mean it will actually stick at the next vote though?
It's done in the House. It's up to Mitch to decide when he wants to hear the case - while he's not planning on hearing it immediately, it is there hanging over Trump, and the Senate can be recalled with emergency procedures.

I dare say they’ll leave it 100 days into Biden’s term before they take it to the Senate by which time more sh.t will have come out and it will be easier to get the votes. The Senate isn’t as Trumpy as the House.
I’ve decided I should be on the pardon list if that’s still in the works

25 R abstentions would mean that no R's would need to vote to convict.

Yeah Tribe confirmed that the other day

Shame only 10 Republicans voted yes (good for them). It’s like having a school shooting and finding out half your teachers are ok with it.

Though the exact analogy would be to find out half the teachers spent the shooting shouting encouragement at the shooter while dialing 911 to inform the police that reports of a shooting were simply a hoax but if they really need to send help the shooter is actually the unarmed children bleeding out in the gym while the true victim in all this is actually the sallow-looking youth in the combat fatigues with a nasty booboo on his trigger finger.

Meanwhile as the sad sack is fumbling to reload his AR15 they would be the first ones on the tannoy to declare that the shooter has now learnt his lesson and it is now time for healing and unity and under no circumstances should any steps be taken to either apprehend the shooter or try and prevent any future shooting.

Well it's a relief nothing bad can happen now.

10 seconds later: Trump give US Navy to Russia
20 seconds later: Iran gets nuked
30 seconds later: Fort Knox discovered the gold's nicked
40 seconds later: Boris grants Trump asylum in Scotland
50 seconds later: Scotland unilaterally proclaims independence
60 seconds later: Trump become President of Scotland in mysterious circumstances

Wow, it's a total surrender. Ordering his Red Caps to stand down and stay home.

Their reaction will be fascinating. Will they brand him a traitor too? Ignore his orders? Or meekly give up their hopes? Can even Qanon suckers continue to trust in him and a mythical plan?

For those who can't bear to watch in over-enunciate every single word,
My fellow Americans, I want to speak to you tonight about the troubling events of the past week. As I have said, the incursion of the US Capitol struck at the very heart of our republic. It angered and appalled millions of Americans across the political spectrum.

I want to be very clear, I unequivocally condemn the violence that we saw last week. Violence and vandalism have absolutely no place in our country and no place in our movement. Making America great again has always been about defending the rule of law, supporting the men and women of law enforcement and upholding our nation's most sacred traditions and values. Mob violence goes against everything I believe in. And everything our movement stands for. No True Supporter of mine could ever endorse political violence. No True Supporter of mine could ever disrespect law enforcement or our Great American Flag. No True Supporter of mine could ever threaten or harass their fellow Americans. If you do any of these things you are not supporting our movement, you are attacking it, and you are attacking our country. We can not tolerate it.

Tragically, over the course of the past year - made so difficult because of COVID-19 - we have seen political violence spiral out of control. We have seen too many riots, too many mobs, too many acts of intimidation and destruction. It must stop. Whether you are on the right or on the left, a Democrat or Republican, there is never a justification for violence. No excuses. No exceptions. America is a nation of laws. Those who engaged in the attacks last week will be brought to justice.

Now, I am asking everyone who has ever believed in our agenda, to be thinking of ways to ease tensions, calm tempers, and help to promote peace in our country. There has been reporting that additional demonstrations are being planned. In the coming days, both here in Washington and across the country. I have been briefed by the U.S. Secret Service on the potential threats. Every American deserves to have their voice heard in a respectful and peaceful way. That is your first amendment right. But I cannot emphasize that there must be no violence, no law-breaking, and no vandalism of any kind. Everyone must follow our laws and obey the instructions of law enforcement.

I have directed federal agencies to use all necessary resources to maintain order. In Washington, D.C. we are bringing in thousands of National Guard members to secure the city and ensure that a transition can occur safely and without incident.

Like all of you, I was shocked and deeply saddened by the calamity at the Capitol last week. I want to thank the hundreds of millions of incredible American citizens who have responded to this moment with calm moderation and grace. We will get through this challenge, just like we always do.

I also want to say a few words about the unprecedented assault on free speech we have seen in recent days. These are tense and difficult times. The efforts to censor, cancel and blacklist our fellow citizens are wrong and they are dangerous. What is needed now is for us to listen to one another, not to silence one another. All of us can choose by our actions to rise above the rancor and find common ground and shared purpose. We must focus on advancing the interests of the whole nation: delivering the miracle vaccines, defeating the pandemic, rebuilding the economy, protecting our national security, and upholding the rule of law.

Today, I am calling on all Americans to overcome the passions of the moment and join together as one American people. Let us choose to move forward united for the good of our families, our communities, and our country.

Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.
It's another "very fine people on both sides".
it's okay to say "I don't know"

Pence is reportedly privately supportive of impeachment, probably as he doesn't have to do anything public to support that, so he can keep the Trumpist evangelical base.
Possibly also because using the 25th Amendment would merely shorten Trump's term by a very small amount, while impeachment can bar him from future office (and therefore from competing against other Republican candidates, including Pence).

I doubt if you can de-radicalise someone in five minutes who you've spent five years radicalising.

The terrorists will still attempt actions in the next few days but the tourists will stay away. And they need that shield of tourists to give legitimacy and concealment. It's going to take guts for cosplay terrorists to actually show up to the Capitols now (they have guts, but in a different sense).

The following shows the impossibility of de-radicalising the nutters. They still believe in the plan, because the alternative is recognising Trump is a snake who conned them. No matter how much he shouts at them that he's a rip-off artist and they are the suckers, they respond by throwing him more money.

The real point isn't that he can shoot somebody in Fifth Avenue and get away with it, but he can shoot somebody in Fifth Avenue and make the victim believe he's not been shot. True power is the power to make people believe 2+2 = 5.

Trump has repeated the snake lyrics dozens of times. He keeps telling them he's the snake. But they refuse to believe it. Trump gets his biggest thrills from biting those who love him.
Down the path alongside the lake
A tender-hearted woman saw a poor half-frozen snake
His pretty colored skin had been all frosted with the dew
“Oh well,” she cried, “I'll take you in and I'll take care of you”

“Take me in oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven's sake
Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake

She wrapped him up all cozy in a curvature of silk
And then laid him by the fireside with some honey and some milk
Now she hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived
She found that pretty snake she'd taken in had been revived

Now she clutched him to her bosom, “You're so beautiful,” she cried
“But if I hadn't brought you in by now you might have died”
Now she stroked his pretty skin and then she kissed and held him tight
But instead of saying thanks, that snake gave her a vicious bite

“I saved you,” cried that woman
“And you've bit me even, why?
You know your bite is poisonous and now I'm going to die”
“Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin
“You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in

So the QAnon lunatic Margorie Taylor Greene has announced that she's going to file articles of impeachment against Joe Biden on 21st Jan.

You can only be impeached for things you do while in public office and Biden isn't in public office yet so.....Crystal balls

On what grounds, I wonder? I don't think being mean to the tangerine tw.t and taking his toys away is an impeachable offence.
And remember that if you botch the exit, the carnival of reaction may be coming to a town near you.
