It appears that Joe Biden has thrown some well-timed spanners in the works of not just the GOP election strategy but the whole MAGA business model.
Here's just one example. There are thousands of businesses whose whole model relied on Joe running. The timing of the announcement on a Sunday afternoon was a masterstroke that f.cked up the media as well.
Nice one Joe.

You do realise that link is to a parody though.

Aaaah. No I didn't.
But I bet there's a number of business people thinking just that.

It’s real life’s fault for being indistinguishable from parody. Bastard. (Real life not you)

I've heard noise around the idea that the Republicans will challenge any other Democratic nominee in the courts for procedural reasons I don't understand.
They can't if Harris is the nominee. She was on ticket that won the primary, and the delegates elected in the primary are her delegates.
If the Democrats pass over Harris without her stepping down, then about a third of the states have delegates that are bound by State law to vote for her for between one to four votes. Only Oklahoma permanently binds its delegates. They could be prosecuted if they voted against Harris, but it wouldn't change the nominee.
In all cases, the slot on the ticket goes to the nominee. There is no mechanism for states to decide who should be the nominee, any more than the Democrats can bring lawsuits challenging Trump being on the ballot as the nominee (lawsuits challenging him under the 14th Amendment are a different matter).
They are still trying it on though. The Republicans are asking the FEC to block transfer of funds from Biden's campaign to Harris's.

Which won't happen because the FEC is split between Democrat and GOP commissioners.

I do think it was possibly deliberate to time it after the Republican convention though.

I'm amazed Trump didn't turn the murder victim into a martyr. Could have laid flowers, lit candles, pretended to pray. And why wasn't he at the hospital bedside of the two seriously injured?
Could it be Trump has lost his sense of the theatrical? He's a TV celeb who loves ratings and crowd size. Surely the old Trump would have been exploiting it, rather than hiding away?
Can you think of examples where he's done this in the past? I can't. He doesn't care about them, nor is he able to pretend to. I don't think that's new for him.

Well when President he did refuse to visit at least one US military cemetery because "it is full of losers". That is pretty illustrative of an attitude to people who literally died for Americans in general, so is his attitude to someone who died or were grievously injured "for" him in particular likely to be far different?

He has a long list of publicity stunts where he pretends to do or care about something. Going to that church and holding up a bible for example.
Obviously he would only do it for the cameras on him, and would resent footage of anyone else. But it's not like the focus would shift away. He was the target, the others are bit players.
His whole spiel on his crimes is "they're not coming after me, they're coming after you". He wants people to believe indictments are aimed at him but will hit supporters next.

He’s certainly tried to use people who have been killed by immigrants as propaganda before. It might be a problem with the assassination attempt that he can’t personally weave it into an anti Democrat message.

It's easier to prosecute his supporters, they don't have any immunity. Lots of his supporters have been found guilty of things intended for his benefit. You do his dirty work, and then when you are caught, he discards you. Mrs Thatcher was like that too.

Trump means voters, which is what I meant by supporters.
His cult members genuinely believe the Democrats are going to arrest them if Biden Harris wins in November. Who among us can be sure we won't be indicted for storing Top Secret docs in our ballroom?

They may not do that too much because it may make people think twice about going to Trump rallies

So, people have been amused by a completely fake rumour that Vance wrote about m.st.rbating using a sofa.
But he apparently searched for the keywords ‘woman’ ‘dolphin’ and posted a screenshot of what looks like a dolphin having sex with a woman.

He probably heard about the dolphin thing and searched for it using those words. Most people would do that.
But as with the couch thing (and Cameron and a pig), the truth doesn't matter if you antagonise enough people to make them think that the grubby alternative to the truth is plausible
