Epsom and Ewell has gone Lib Dem. You can now walk from the west to east coasts of the south of England without going through a Tory constituency.

The whole of the Black Country has turned red!!

My old MP, and perma-c.nt, James Morris has lost. My current constituency goes Labour…very happy to have been part of that campaign.

I think the map has been transformed, with the so-called blue wall now a completely different contest to the so-called red wall, the North Sea racist lands, Wales and Scotland.

There's no simple story to tell across the country, it all has to be regional.

If that late swing to the Tories hadn't happened, they'd have been the third party. We were so close!

lpm wrote: Fri Jul 05, 2024 3:29 am Don;t know what's going on with the BBC. Now changed again

Labour: 410 to 405 to 410 again

Con 131 to 154 to 144 now

LD 61 to 56 to 58

Ref 13 to 4 to 4 still
Labour : 410 to 405 to 410 to 406

Con: 131 to 154 to 144 to 136

LD 61 to 56 to 58 to 66

The LibDem pessimism looked odd when they were storming ahead in some tough seats.
The Labour miss is due to losing 4 to independents plus 1 to the IDS f.ck up.
I think I have a right to be pissed off with the BBC for their tinkering during the night.

The end result is close to the starting result. But they went wrong in that first revision.

And they have updated again, far too late. It was clear that there weren't enough remaining seats for the forecast.

It is now

LAB 411
CON 127
LD 70
REF 4
GRN 4
