GREAT NEWS!
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps wrote: Changing the designs of our driving licences and number plates is a historic moment for British motorists, and a reassertion of our independence from the EU one year on from our departure.
Where would we be without Grant Shapps?

Take that Remoaners! Another thing to add to the Brexit benefits list which currently reads:-

Blue passports.
Happy fish.
Little union jacks on our licence plates

*checks other side of the paper, looks under desk, pats pockets*

See three things and all it costs us was 5 years of paralysis, one billion a week and Gibraltar and Northern Ireland.

We should have put that on our bus!

That would be EU-Warehousing-And-Distribution-R-US buying stock in bulk from lots of small UK companies and then selling it on in the EU?

Well I suppose each UK company would have to just do one lot paperwork at once instead of each time for each small personal order. And the EU company would become specialized in helping the UK companies with that.

It would certainly make it easier for personal buyers in the EU.

Of course the costs all increase because of the extra middlemen.
EU-Warehousing
I was coming to post the same thing. More winning.

One thing I remember from before I retired was useless CEOs and Directors used to concentrate on things like redesigning the stationary, repainting the companies lorries a different colour, rearranging the office layout and other such actions, which give the illusion of action without any real change.

Interesting that they've used an Edinburgh address as an example.

Truss said joining the pact would “create enormous opportunities for UK businesses that simply weren’t there as part of the EU”. Hmm.

Not sure where I'd be without Shapps, but without Brexit I'd still be driving in EU on my old paper licence rather than either needing to get it replaced with a photo licence or two IDPs.

Note to self Photo licence is £20; IDPs are £5.50 each.

OK mostly with countries such as Japan and Canada which the EU/UK already had FTAs with.

Still it's not to be sniffed at "£110 billion ($137 billion) worth of trade" is just over two Belgium's worth!

Just a pity we had to jeopardise the 20 Belgium's worth of trade we have with the EU and associated countries to get it.

It sounds like the real prize would be if the US eventually joins the same trade pact. Don't know how likely that is though.

As long as we can stop the bl..dy Chinese joining too (have pre-demands to joining sounds a bit, er, arrogant...)

That would take the total deal up to four whole Belgiums!

Although TBF despite the sneering we should still appreciate the Sovereignty aspect of this development.

The rules that govern our economy will be no longer at the whim of unelected bureaucrats hundreds of miles away ... they will be at the whim of unelected bureaucrats 12000 miles away.

I for one am looking forward to the next round of CPTPP elections, I assume we elect our CPTPP reps through good old FPTP none of that undemocratic d'Hondt nonsense we used to do for our MEPs or even worse by simply appointing representatives by each government. #TakeBackControl

What is hard, dead and smelly?

All the of the shellfish we're going to throw away because we can't export them anymore!

That's right, 23% of the UK fish export market just went bust. Thanks, Brexiters!

Maybe we have to patriotically rename them in English. "Of twosomes" or something.

In other minor benefits, I own a Czech made 3d printer and spares can no longer be ordered for shipping to the UK.

I foresee a rise in gift-giving in the wake of Brexit, where British people keep in touch with their EU relatives by sending them occasional gifts of cash and they in turn send gifts of items which can no longer be ordered from the UK.

We know someone who runs an astronomy centre in France, so I can see her taking delivery of items from EU based suppliers, so people will arrive with some astro equipment and return home with a bit more stuff in their kit boxes.

Ah but have they factored in the exponential rise in exports of innovative jams, pigs’ ears and Toblerone display cabinets to the Faroe Islands?

Luckily, I've just rebuilt my Prusa - and most parts are available in China

Don't forget to factor in a few billion for the Norman Wisdom video exports to Albania.
