She's an elected MP. We didn't vote for her as PM.

And you're a muck covered pleb hauling away at a sack of turnips to deliver your tythe to the big house if you think that's a coherent response

A muck covered pleb who knows how to spell tithe.

Roun by yere it's Tythe; Tythe Barn, Tythe Barn Road: but it seems in other places there are as many Tithes as there are Tythes.

I suppose it depends on whether Tessa is a muck-covered hauling turnips from before or after than standardisation of English orthography by Samuel Johnson.
Maybe they should grovel to each other.

Given the opportunity, a lot more people would vote for Charles as King/President than Truss for PM...

As is Truss. As isn’t Lord Gruesome of Sniffyfingers who frankly should be dragged to the tower for daring to condescend any representative of the commons.

Simple stats says that he probably is descended from a few mucky peasants. Might not have been as recently as for Truss though.

Unless they keep the bloodline pure by marrying close relatives, like the Ptolomaic pharoahs or, until fairly recently, European royalty.

Pretty much all pharaohs, though it isn't until the new kingdom that pharaoh means the king rather than the palace.

The European royalty bloodlines are nothing like that "pure", and there's plenty of noble families that were awarded that status for services rendered at various points in history. And all bets are off if you go back 1000 years or more.
So you would have to go exploring the whole family tree to asset that there were no peasants there ever.

Not particularly, no. Perhaps you've confused him with Charles II of Spain?

I couldn't remember so I played safe and stuck to the ones I was sure about.
I'm not convinced JRM is entirely human; I suspect his family are all grown in a vat and his blood is mostly acid.

I learnt a Latin term today that may come in handy, rex inutilis. It means useless king. Or in modern parlance, crap king.

I don't think we can expect the Pope to intervene. The term was discussed (in 2017) here:

His mam saw off 17 so he's making a good start on her record.

Given his last comments to Truss, I so hope the mics are on and pick up the opening small talk when he meets the new PM.
