So where the Sun says "The record breaking accord will have been forged in less than a year and will allow free trade to continue without tariffs of quotas in a major win for Britain." they're celebrating Boris getting a deal with is the same deal we had back in 2016 when we were members. All that for no gain. Not something I'd be boasting about.

Similar all-nighters have happened before every major European treaty. Although I don’t remember the deadlines keeping moving.

Don't forget though, that on top of that the NHS will land an extra 350 million a week starting next week (and uprated by Boris to 438 million by the end of next year).

As far as trade goes it’s a far worse deal. To start with exports of services will be more difficult, and there will be checks on goods leaving and entering.

Well the important thing is coming to some sort of deal late on Xmas Eve (or Boxing Day or the 28th ...) gives business plenty of time to prepare for the new regime from 11pm on the 31st December when they all return to work on ... *checks notes* ... the 4th January.
