TBF the wifi was hopeless in the NEC in 2014. That was just her buffering. If you look deep into her eyes (
don't look deep into her eyes!) you can see the swirling circles of doom when it happens.
I like the way youtube search suggests Liz Truss...pork markets
Had to watch it all the way through, I forgot how horrific it was.

So
we were at
Rishi Sunak - 115
Penny Mordaunt - 82
Liz Truss - 71
Kemi Badenoch - 58
Tom Tugendhat - 31
"Badenough" obviously just managed to pick up a few letters from some of the candidates who dropped out, outperforming "Mourdaunt" there who's had that extra u for a while now and even managed to lose the other one for a moment there.
Sunak and Truss haven't picked up any letters at all, obviously having names which are simple enough to spell.
There have been rumours that Sunak has been "lending" votes to try and remove contenders he'd rather not face later in the competition.
It certainly looks like a feasible thing to do, and Tory leadership candidate is a close synonym for evil scheming bastard. So if he was doing that, does anyone have a view on where he might have been lending votes, or might want to lend them now?

“Nearly there.”
Rishi Sunak - 118 (up 3)
Penny Mordaunt - 92 (up 10)
Liz Truss - 86 (up 15)
Kemi Badenoch - 59 (up 1)
This runoff devil-take-the-losingest style obviously hasn't done anything to change the order of the candidates or the final result at any point.

Ha ha ha they reckon Truss is gonna win it on the membership vote, that's so hilarious.
There's a decent chance that by 2024 Boris Johnson will be rated only second worst PM in history.

There's technically enough Badenoch votes (plus one spoiled ballot) available to split between Truss and Mordaunt to eliminate Sunak next. 118:119:119

I've just seen Peston suggesting that it can also be three way tie: 357 voters, 119 each.

I don't understand why Tory members like her so much. She's like a glove puppet where the puppeteer is having a seizure.

She was, but then people remembered that she didn't have a spotless record of being an utter c.nt to trans people for the last five years, so her popularity has waned.

Hope so. If it is they should move PMQs to primetime. With repeats on Dave.

It was never going to be anyone good. It's the Tory party. I'm just hoping a) she's beaten at the first available opportunity and b) in the meantime, aid and support to Ukraine stays as is or improves. IIRC Truss loves photo ops. Perhaps Zelenskyy should charge her one (1) Typhoon for every photo op in Ukraine?

Is there some rule via which candidates who drop out leave some of the letters of their surname to the remaining candidates or something?
I did try, honest.

Exactly - and if there's anyone we can rely on to make a hopeless choice it's Conservative party members.

Latest Con party membership polling from
yougov. Made before today's round, so includes Badenoch. According to this, Sunak loses the runoff to anyone, but would have lost most badly to Badenoch, and closest to Mordaunt. Mordaunt does indeed seem to have lost a bit of popularity since the last time this poll was done, but is still predicted to beat Sunak.
So Sunak had most to fear from Badenoch in a run-off. So if you think Sunak is pulling strings and lending votes around to maximise his chances, then he was successful in getting rid of the biggest threat to him in that round.
I find it hard to believe that Tugendhat-supporting MPs line up mainly between Truss and Mordaunt, as the voting numbers indicate. So that's potentially a bit of evidence for some tactical voting going on, if you agree with that judgment.

That tactical voting theory cannot be right. It wouldn't have stopped Badenoch votes, just redistributed votes up the top.
